I’ve been fascinated by little things in nature ever since I was, well, little.

As a professional naturalist, I’m committed to helping people cultivate wonder at the natural world. In an age of Google, identification is a wonderful skill, but curiosity is an even more important one.

From my early days as an interpreter in an aquarium, to working on both the East and West Coasts of the U.S., to teaching outdoor skills in the Northwoods of Wisconsin, the common thread in my teaching has been helping people to slow down and notice the small things.

After years of working as a naturalist across the U.S.A., I am so happy to be back at home in Saint Paul, Minnesota.

Let’s go outside!
